Relief Programs

UIUCares provided critical humanitarian support to vulnerable groups through multiple initiatives across Enugu and Abia States.

Food Aid Distribution: Supported over 300 families with essential food items, including yams, rice, beans, noodles, tomatoes, and oil.

Accomplishments: Delivered food supplies to undeserved households.

Impact: Reduced food insecurity and provided temporary relief to struggling families.

The Ugba Edogori Relief Program organized by UIUCares for the refugee settlement of Ugba Edogori at Nike, Enugu. This settlement comprises of families from different communities in Ebonyi state fleeing from boundary disputes with Cross River state. This settlement with population of up to 5000 people living in mainly thatch houses, with little or no access to modern facilities. The relief program targeted 200 families from the community; distributed 5 bags of rice, 2 bags of beans, 50 tubers of yams, 15 cartons of noodles,10 cartons of vegetable oil and 10 cartons of tomatoes. The goals and objectives of this relief program was in response to the deteriorating Nigerian Economy to address food security in underprivileged communities; to help families reach nutritional needs and to raise awareness for such communities.
