Our Programs

UIUCares implemented significant restoration projects in schools to enhance learning environments and improve educational conditions. These efforts focused on renovating classrooms, providing essential learning materials, and creating safer, more conducive spaces for students. UIUCares aimed to foster a better educational experience, ensuring that students have the necessary resources to thrive.
Aims to recognize and reward indigent but intelligent students for their academic achievements. Awarding scholarships to 40 students from 11 schools in Enugu and Anambra, the program sought to alleviate financial barriers to education and promote excellence.
The UIUCares International Student Scholarship, in partnership with the Gwacham 5 Foundation, recognizes and supports outstanding international students pursuing higher education in the U.S. We have so far awarded 10 exceptional students across various universities and disciplines, helping alleviate financial barriers and promote academic excellence. The program continues to empower future leaders.
The Girls’ Health Program is dedicated to educating and empowering young girls (ages 12-18) in public secondary schools on menstrual hygiene. Through this initiative, over 400 girls have gained essential knowledge and resources to manage their menstrual health confidently, breaking stigmas and promoting well-being.
Technology Program is a  6-month program designed to equip public secondary school students with practical computer skills. The program aimed to bridge the technology gap and promote digital inclusion among students from underserved communities.
The UIUCares Apprenticeship Program is a comprehensive initiative that sponsors individuals to acquire skills in various trades. The program is designed to empower participants by providing them with practical training, mentorship, and the opportunity to develop expertise in their chosen fields. Key elements of the program include financial support, hands-on learning experiences, and a commitment to enhancing employability.
The UIU Relief Program (UIUCares) provides vital humanitarian support to vulnerable communities in Abia, Anambra, Enugu, and Imo States. Through food aid distributions, it has assisted over 900 families with essential supplies, reducing food insecurity. The most recent program at Ugba Edogori Relief Program specifically targeted 200 refugee families displaced by boundary disputes, delivering much-needed food assistance to improve nutrition and raise awareness about their plight.
The UIUCares Back to School Program is always done at the beginning of each new year. This particular program is targeted at the students of public secondary schools across the southeastern part of Nigeria; who come from low income households. The goals of the Back to School program is to promote educational equity, improve academic performance, address economic performance and enhance educational access.
UIUCares successfully implemented the Entrepreneurial Skills Training program at Ugba Edogori, empowering women and youths with practical skills to create sustainable income streams and achieve financial independence. The program aimed to: Equip participants with hands-on skills in liquid soap making, air freshener production, hypo production, and pastry making, Introduce participants to the concept of passive income and Empower participants to take control of their economic future and contribute to community growth.
In commemoration of World Malaria Day 2025, UIUCares carried out a 2-day malaria outreach in Ugwuaji and Ndi Agu Amechi communities.

Our Past Events

Christmas Program with CAPIO at Enugu Maximum Security Custodial Centre provided meals and emotional support to 2,900 inmates.

Accomplishments: Partnered with CAPIO (Carmelite Prisoners’ Interest Organization) to host a Christmas event and provide food. Impact: Fostered a sense of hope among inmates and strengthened UIUCares’ collaboration with prison outreach organizations.

The Personal Voters Card (PVC)Program in Secondary Schools, organized by Umu Igbo Unite Cares, aimed to empower eligible students with the opportunity to register for their voter’s card ahead of elections.

The UIUCares Malaria Outreach Program on World Malaria Day 2023.

This program was targeted initiative aimed at raising awareness and combating malaria in the communities of Obiagu and Artisan quarters. On this day, UIUCares organized an educational outreach, with medical professionals sensitizing on combating malaria.

UIUCares & Lagos Business School Program: Equipped 50+ youth with fundamental economic and business skills

Accomplishments: Delivered structured training on entrepreneurship and financial literacy. Impact: Enhanced career readiness and provided young entrepreneurs with the tools for business success
